Ten school communities across the Northern Beaches are set to receive support for local environmental projects under Northern Beaches Council’s 2025/2026 Eco Schools Grant Program, with funding recommended for initiatives ranging from native gardens to waterway protection. For local families, the program means more student-led sustainability work on school grounds and in surrounding neighbourhoods, backed by small grants from council. Council said the program will provide grants of up to $500 per school across five priority areas: bush regeneration, carbon reduction, waste reduction, sustainability education, and water reuse and reduction. The funding is aimed at hands-on projects rather than broad policy work, with schools expected to turn the money into practical on-the-ground outcomes.
