The budget was adopted after a month-long public exhibition that drew more than 8,500 online visitors and 135 submissions. Council said feedback highlighted familiar local priorities, including better footpaths, improved cycling links, and upgrades to roads and parks. A key part of the budget is the Special Variation to rates approved by IPART, which council says will help address long-standing infrastructure pressures and improve its long-term financial position. For residents, that means a higher rates notice in 2026-27.
