Manly Station Officer Peta Miller has been awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal in the King’s Birthday 2026 Honours List, giving the Northern Beaches a local recipient in this year’s national honours. The award recognises Miller’s long service with Fire and Rescue NSW and a career that has included hazardous frontline roles, specialist rescue work and deployments beyond Sydney.
Manly Station Officer Peta Miller has been awarded the Australian Fire Service Medal in the King’s Birthday 2026 Honours List, giving the Northern Beaches a local recipient in this year’s national honours. The award recognises Miller’s long service with Fire and Rescue NSW and a career that has included hazardous frontline roles, specialist rescue work and deployments beyond Sydney. Miller, who currently holds the rank of station officer at Manly, began her service with Fire and Rescue NSW in 2005. Over the past 20 years she has worked across a range of operational roles, building experience at some of the state’s busiest and most demanding stations. That work included nearly a decade at City of Sydney Fire Station, Fire and Rescue NSW’s largest and busiest station, where she gained advanced qualifications in Heavy Rescue and Ladder Platform operations. She also served at Forestville as a Hazmat Technician and at Manly fire stations before taking up her current leadership role.
