The draft Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026–2030 has been placed on public exhibition by Northern Beaches Council, which is calling on the broader community — and in particular people living with disability, their families, carers and support services — to review the document and provide feedback before it is finalised. More than 21 per cent of Australians live with disability, a figure that is expected to grow as the population ages. On the Northern Beaches, where the demographic profile skews older than many other parts of Sydney, the council has acknowledged that disability will touch an increasing number of residents' lives in the years ahead.
