Northern Beaches Bus Routes Set for Major Overhaul from 21 June
Transport NSW has confirmed timetable and route changes affecting more than a dozen services across the Northern Beaches and North Shore, with some routes to be withdrawn entirely from 21 June 2026.

Commuters across Sydney's Northern Beaches are being urged to review their regular bus routes ahead of significant timetable and service changes taking effect from Sunday 21 June 2026. Transport NSW has confirmed that more than a dozen routes serving the Northern Beaches and North Shore will be adjusted, extended or withdrawn as part of a broader Greater Sydney network update designed to improve connections and expand operating hours across the city. Among the most notable changes for Northern Beaches residents, Route 196 will be withdrawn entirely, with additional services added to Route 197 to absorb the demand. Route 594 will also be withdrawn, with Transport NSW directing affected passengers to Routes 194, 194X and 577 as alternative travel options. Route 283, which serves the Frenchs Forest and Belrose corridor, will see its early morning trips adjusted to commence at Glen Street opposite Glenrose Village Shopping Centre, rather than the current departure point at Glen Street opposite Wakehurst Public School.
