A 53-year-old tradesman has been airlifted to hospital after falling from a residential rooftop at Freshwater on Wednesday morning, in what WorkSafe NSW is treating as a serious workplace incident. Emergency services were called to a property on Ronald Avenue, Freshwater, at approximately 9.30am on Wednesday 4 June 2026, after the man fell between five and seven metres from the roof he was working on. NSW Ambulance paramedics attended the scene and assessed the man, who was conscious but had sustained significant injuries consistent with a fall from height. Given the severity of his injuries, CareFlight's helicopter was tasked to the Ronald Avenue site. The specialist aeromedical team treated the man at the scene before he was transported to Royal North Shore Hospital in a serious but stable condition. The incident occurred at a residential property in the established Freshwater streetscape, not far from the suburb's popular beach and village centre. Neighbours reported hearing a commotion before emergency vehicles arrived in force. Falls from height remain one of the leading causes of serious injury and death in the Australian construction industry. Safe Work NSW data...
