After years of planning, community consultation and grant applications, the long-awaited upgrades to North Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club are now under way, with construction commencing in the first week of June 2026.

After years of planning, community consultation and grant applications, the long-awaited upgrades to North Narrabeen Surf Life Saving Club are now under way, with construction commencing in the first week of June 2026. The project — a collaboration between Northern Beaches Council and the NSW Government — will transform a facility that has served the local community since 1912. The existing clubhouse, which was built in two stages with the final stage completed in 1983, will receive a comprehensive overhaul designed to improve accessibility, modernise facilities and better serve both lifesavers and the broader community for decades to come. Northern Beaches Council confirmed that the works are being carried out by contractor Warrane Pty Ltd. The upgrade includes a new 35-square-metre meeting space for the North Narrabeen Boardriders Club (NNBC), which has called the club home since 1964, as well as upgraded interiors, a renewed balcony and BBQ area, new ceilings, lighting, flooring, tiling and signage, and landscaping to better integrate the building with the car park, beach access and playground.
