Northern Beaches Council has announced the finalists for the 2026 Environmental Art & Design Prize (EADP), with 170 works selected from more than 700 submissions from across Australia.
Northern Beaches Council has announced the finalists for the 2026 Environmental Art & Design Prize (EADP), with 170 works selected from more than 700 submissions from across Australia. The council says the finalist list includes 47 artists and designers from the Northern Beaches, with others having ties to the region, positioning this year’s exhibition as a major local event as well as a national snapshot of how creative practitioners are responding to environmental issues. Mayor Sue Heins said the submissions were “extraordinary and impactful”, and described the prize as a way for the community to engage with environmental themes through contemporary art and design. “The Environmental Art & Design Prize continues to showcase the incredible creativity and commitment of artists and designers who inspire us to care for our environment,” she said. Heins said the finalist works cover perspectives on the natural world, sustainable living and “the environmental challenges we face together”, and that the finalists “challenge us to think differently about our world and demonstrate the power of art and design to drive positive change in our communities.” The council said this year’s...
