The initiative is inspired by Beau Hewitt, a 12-year-old Manly supporter who passed away last year after cancer treatment. The campaign honours his legacy and aims to help fund research and care for children battling cancer. According to the club, Beau began pushing a donation drive during his treatment to help as many children with cancer as possible. His family later discovered he had quietly created a “cure for cancer” page on one of his social channels to call for donations. Manly is also using the round to spotlight another 12-year-old supporter, Cam Finn, who is currently fighting cancer. Cam was diagnosed about nine months ago with Diffuse Intrinsic Pontine Glioma (DIPG), which the club described as a rare and highly aggressive brain tumour that primarily affects children. The club said there is no cure and no effective treatment available for DIPG, and Cam’s family is focused on making the most of time together by creating memories...
