Northern Beaches Council is inviting locals to a live music event at Curl Curl Creative Space on Thursday, 9 April, with Maitê Inaê & Band set to perform as part of the Music at Curly program. The show will run from 6pm to 8pm and is being billed as an evening of Afro-Brazilian-influenced contemporary music, with council encouraging the community to attend. Maitê Inaê & Band is described as known for blending Afro-Brazilian soul with jazz harmony, with a performance built around groove-driven rhythms and improvisation. The live set will feature a six-piece ensemble, including keys, guitar, bass, drums and percussion, performing original music. Council said the music draws on Afro-diasporic influences and aims to create an immersive concert experience for audiences. Inaê is a Brazilian-Australian vocalist, composer and producer, and council said her sound combines Afro-Brazilian rhythms with neo-soul textures and contemporary songwriting.
