Their advocacy led to "Joe's Law," legislation designed to prohibit future public-private partnerships in hospitals, ensuring operations remain in public hands and prioritise patient care over profit. The transition was initially expected to take three years but was achieved in just 12 months, cutting Healthscope's contract short by 12 years.
