The proposed masterplan outlines a staged 10 to 15-year transformation aimed at modernising the 86-year-old veteran and seniors' community while preserving its rich heritage.

Established on Anzac Day in 1939, the Narrabeen village has been a cornerstone of support for generations of veterans and older Australians. The new proposal seeks to address the evolving care needs of residents, aligning with the growing sector-wide focus on ageing in place, accessibility, and enhanced wellbeing following the Royal Commission into Aged Care Quality and Safety. The ambitious renewal project introduces a "village of villages" concept. This model focuses on creating walkable, interconnected neighbourhoods featuring modern housing options, expansive green spaces, and shared community amenities.
