Northern Beaches Council has officially opened the Warriewood Community Centre on Monday 23 March, delivering a new multipurpose space for local groups and residents and a facility that can be transformed into a recovery centre during or after a natural disaster.

Northern Beaches Council has officially opened the Warriewood Community Centre on Monday 23 March, delivering a new multipurpose space for local groups and residents and a facility that can be transformed into a recovery centre during or after a natural disaster. The single-storey, accessible centre features four multi-purpose halls, including a dance studio and a large function space with a caterer’s kitchen, along with two adaptable meeting rooms, a welcoming entry lobby and covered outdoor spaces looking out to the reserve. Mayor Sue Heins said the centre is intended as a versatile place for local groups, clubs and individuals to learn, play, socialise, create and support one another. She said it is close to public transport and near Warriewood Square Shopping Centre, and will be offered for hire at subsidised rates like other Northern Beaches Council community centres. Council says the building is powered by 100% renewable electricity and includes a 100kW solar system, 24,000 litres of rainwater storage and LED lighting.
