St Edmund's College is considering opening a second Year 5/6 class in 2027 after its first reached capacity, potentially creating another eight to 11 places for students with additional needs. The Wahroonga specialist school draws families from across the Northern Beaches and is now seeking expressions of interest to determine demand.

St Edmund's College is considering opening a second Year 5/6 class in 2027 after its first reached capacity, potentially creating another eight to 11 places for students with additional needs. The Wahroonga specialist school draws families from across the Northern Beaches and is now seeking expressions of interest to determine demand. The co-educational college supports students with mild to moderate intellectual disability, autism and sensory impairments from Years 5 to 12. Current students travel from Manly, Freshwater, Dee Why, Newport, North Narrabeen, Belrose, Collaroy Plateau and other parts of the peninsula to attend the Burns Road campus. Introduced in 2025, the Stage 3 program is intended to give students two years to become familiar with a secondary school environment before starting Year 7. Students follow high school-style timetables, move between specialist classrooms and learn to navigate the campus more independently while completing Years 5 and 6.
