Northern Beaches Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026-2030 is now in effect, setting the direction for how Council will improve access to everyday services, facilities and community life over the next four years. The plan matters for residents who face barriers when moving around public spaces, seeking information, attending events, dealing with Council or looking for employment opportunities.

Northern Beaches Council's Disability Inclusion Action Plan 2026-2030 is now in effect, setting the direction for how Council will improve access to everyday services, facilities and community life over the next four years. The plan matters for residents who face barriers when moving around public spaces, seeking information, attending events, dealing with Council or looking for employment opportunities. The plan was shaped by feedback from people with disability, their families and carers, as well as local service providers and community networks. Participants identified practical concerns including the ability to move around safely, find information in an accessible form, take part in events and receive respectful treatment. Council strengthened the final plan in response to that feedback. The changes include a greater focus on dementia awareness, clearer accessibility information for events and venues, inclusive employment pathways and different customer service options.
