A new pedestrian and cycle bridge has opened at Queenscliff, giving people travelling between Warringah Mall and Manly a safer and more accessible way to cross Manly Lagoon. The dedicated bridge is intended for walkers, cyclists, school commuters, dog walkers and runners using the busy shared route.

Its width is designed to ease a longstanding choke point where different users of the path converge, providing more room for people travelling at different speeds. For locals, the main practical change is an alternative to the narrow footpath along busy Pittwater Road. Pedestrians and cyclists can instead cross over the lagoon, away from the constrained roadside section, while remaining connected to the broader route between Manly and Warringah Mall. The bridge deck sits three metres above the waterway. Northern Beaches Council says that height will allow the crossing to remain accessible during major flood events of a scale typically expected once in 100 years.
