Davidson Community Pharmacy opens beside local medical centre

A new community pharmacy has opened in Davidson, giving residents direct access to prescription medicines and other health services beside their local medical practice. Pharmacists Geetal Sundarji and Rupreet Kaur opened Davidson Community Pharmacy on Monday, 20 July, addressing a longstanding gap that had forced patients to travel elsewhere after seeing a local doctor.

A new community pharmacy has opened in Davidson, giving residents direct access to prescription medicines and other health services beside their local medical practice. Pharmacists Geetal Sundarji and Rupreet Kaur opened Davidson Community Pharmacy on Monday, 20 July, addressing a longstanding gap that had forced patients to travel elsewhere after seeing a local doctor. The pharmacy is inside the Davidson medical centre at the Yindela Street commercial centre, rather than operating as a separate retail shop. Kaur said the pharmacists would work closely with the general practitioners and allied health professionals based there, with the aim of providing more integrated care for patients. The medical centre has served Davidson for more than 15 years, but previous attempts to add an on-site pharmacy were unsuccessful because of approval challenges. Sundarji approached Davidson MP Matt Cross for assistance in October 2025, and Cross subsequently wrote to Federal Health Minister Mark Butler seeking a dispensation for the business's approval.
