Patients at Mona Vale Hospital will benefit from more than $77,000 in rehabilitation equipment, furniture and other resources provided by the hospital auxiliary during the past financial year. The annual wishlist program directs money raised in the Northern Beaches community towards items requested by individual hospital departments.
Patients at Mona Vale Hospital will benefit from more than $77,000 in rehabilitation equipment, furniture and other resources provided by the hospital auxiliary during the past financial year. The annual wishlist program directs money raised in the Northern Beaches community towards items requested by individual hospital departments. The latest purchases include indoor and outdoor furniture for the Assessment and Rehabilitation Unit and Beachside Rehabilitation Unit. The auxiliary has also supplied an amputee wheelchair and a MOTOmed movement therapy device for the physiotherapy gym. The MOTOmed is a motor-assisted cycling machine used in rehabilitation. Together with the specialised wheelchair, it adds practical equipment for patients undergoing physiotherapy, while the new furniture is intended to improve facilities used by patients, families and staff in the two rehabilitation units. Departments identify wishlist items each year that could improve patient care or the experience of people using hospital services.
