Runaway truck enters busy Brookvale intersection after collision with Tesla

Morning commuters escaped injury when a Hino truck apparently lost control on Warringah Road and entered the busy Pittwater Road intersection at Brookvale at about 7.20am. The truck crossed towards the opposite side of the road before turning left towards Dee Why without stopping, dashcam footage shows. Northern Beaches Police Area Command confirmed the truck was being driven by a 37-year-old man. A witness reported that it collided with a Tesla driven by a 38-year-old man at the intersection. No injuries were reported. The Tesla sustained partial damage to its front-right side following the incident. Dashcam footage recorded from morning traffic shows the truck moving into the opposing side of Warringah Road, apparently to avoid a collision, before entering the Pittwater Road intersection and turning left. The footage indicates the incident unfolded while other vehicles were waiting nearby. The truck driver allegedly left the scene without exchanging particulars with the Tesla driver.
