Announced on Tuesday August 4, 2026, the updated design incorporates a range of improvements refined through community consultation, including a new signalised intersection and roundabout at McCarrs Creek Road to reduce delays and improve safety for motorists navigating one of the area's key junctions. Among the most notable inclusions is a dedicated fauna overpass to be constructed east of Kimbriki Road, providing safer passage for native animals and strengthening habitat connections across the corridor — a measure welcomed by local environment advocates. The updated design also includes changes to Tumburra Street access, introducing safer left-in, left-out movements and a new local road connection to improve safety for motorists and nearby residents.
