Two 18-year-old women were knocked from an e-bike when a minibus moved forward at the Mitchell Road and Orchard Road roundabout in Brookvale just before 3.15pm on Thursday, 30 July. The low-speed collision prompted a major initial emergency response, although neither young woman was found to be seriously injured.

The pair, believed to have just finished school for the day, were travelling together on the e-bike and wearing helmets. As they passed through the roundabout, a white 2011 Toyota HiAce minibus that had stopped at the intersection moved forward and struck the bike, knocking both women to the ground. NSW Police and NSW Ambulance responded after the incident was reported to Triple Zero. Four ambulance crews were sent to Mitchell Road, including NSW Ambulance Inspector Christian Holmes, with the first paramedics arriving within five minutes. Bystanders were helping the two young women when emergency crews arrived. Both were sitting beside the road and were assessed and treated by paramedics for minor injuries.
