More than 2,300 young people across the Northern Beaches have identified transport, mental health, cost of living and social safety among the issues affecting their lives. Their responses, published in the Have Your Say Day Report 2026, are intended to help elected representatives, community leaders and youth services make decisions that better reflect local needs.
More than 2,300 young people across the Northern Beaches have identified transport, mental health, cost of living and social safety among the issues affecting their lives. Their responses, published in the Have Your Say Day Report 2026, are intended to help elected representatives, community leaders and youth services make decisions that better reflect local needs. The findings draw on survey responses from 2,368 residents aged 12 to 24, as well as presentations made during the fifth annual Have Your Say Day. The youth-led initiative gives young people an opportunity to discuss problems and proposed solutions directly with elected leaders, youth-sector professionals and community members. Environmental concerns, addiction, education and digital media also featured in this year's results. Young people raised access to safe and affordable places to meet and connect, putting the availability and cost of social spaces alongside broader pressures such as transport and household expenses.
