A 20-year-old man has been charged after an alleged knife incident at 7th Day Brewery on Wattle Road, Brookvale, late on Friday night. Police say patrons and staff detained the man after he allegedly entered the venue's outdoor area with a knife, struck a beer keg and told other people there that he was armed.

A 20-year-old man has been charged after an alleged knife incident at 7th Day Brewery on Wattle Road, Brookvale, late on Friday night. Police say patrons and staff detained the man after he allegedly entered the venue's outdoor area with a knife, struck a beer keg and told other people there that he was armed. NSW Police said officers were called to Wattle Road about 10.50pm on Friday 17 July following reports of a man with a knife at the brewery. The incident occurred while the venue was open and involved people in the outdoor area. Police were told the man had struck a beer keg multiple times with the knife before staff and patrons intervened. A patron held the knife until police arrived, while security detained the man as officers were called. The response meant the man was kept at the venue until police could take over. Officers then spoke with staff and patrons and took statements about what had occurred. The man was taken to Manly Police Station and charged with custody of a knife in a public place.
