Northern Beaches police are asking for help to identify a Good Samaritan who stepped in during an alleged liquor theft at North Narrabeen, as officers also deal with a major break-in investigation and a pair of sextortion incidents involving local teenagers. Northern Beaches police are asking for help to identify a Good Samaritan who stepped in during an alleged liquor theft at North Narrabeen, as officers also deal with a major break-in investigation and a pair of sextortion incidents involving local teenagers. The incidents span shoplifting, residential break-ins, fraud inquiries and online extortion, with police urging residents to come forward where they can help. Police say five teenage boys were allegedly involved in stealing more than $500 worth of alcohol from a North Narrabeen liquor store on Tuesday, 7 July 2026. According to officers, four boys went into the store while one remained outside. As the group fled, an adult man who was passing by intervened and grabbed one boy by the arm, detaining him briefly. Police say the boy broke free with help from one of his friends, but items were left behind and later used to help identify him. The incident was also captured on CCTV and police say all five boys were identified. Officers contacted their parents, who were described as stunned by the behaviour.
