A driver has been charged with drink-driving after a Porsche Cayenne crashed through a traffic light and onto the footpath at Balgowlah late on Sunday night, damaging public infrastructure and forcing emergency crews to secure exposed electrical hazards. The crash happened at a busy intersection on Condamine Street and left a woman with minor injuries.

Shortly after 11.30pm on Sunday 12 July, NSW Police, NSW Ambulance and Fire and Rescue NSW Manly Station were called to a motor vehicle collision at Condamine Street, Balgowlah. When crews arrived, they found a 2019 Porsche Cayenne outside the front of the Coco Republic furniture store on the corner of Hayes Street. Police said the SUV had apparently been travelling northbound on the Burnt Bridge Creek Deviation before it lost control at the intersection with Condamine Street. In dry conditions, the vehicle appears to have been travelling at speed when it struck a traffic light in the middle of the intersection, then skidded about 50 metres along the road before mounting the kerb.
