A man has been charged after police alleged he stole tens of thousands of dollars' worth of property in a string of break-ins across the Northern Beaches and South Sydney. A man has been charged after police alleged he stole tens of thousands of dollars' worth of property in a string of break-ins across the Northern Beaches and South Sydney. For local residents, the case centres on 11 incidents police say were connected, including break-ins at Manly Vale, Balgowlah, Manly and Seaforth, with the alleged offending unfolding over several months. Police said the incidents took place between May and July this year and also extended to Rosebery and Mascot. Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command began investigating in May after inquiries suggested the break-ins were linked. According to police, the stolen property included two motorcycles, three e-bikes, a desktop computer, a dashcam device, keys, a wallet and a handbag. The combined value of the items was estimated at about $64,000. The arrest was made about 5pm on Friday, 10 July, when officers from the Northern Beaches Proactive Crime Team, assisted by Auburn Police Area Command, arrested a 29-year-old man on Waterways Street at Wentworth Point, near Sydney Olympic Park.
