Teen arrested after woman allegedly assaulted at Dee Why B-Line bus stop

A 17-year-old boy was arrested after a 27-year-old woman was allegedly assaulted at the northbound B-Line bus stop on Pittwater Road at Dee Why late on Saturday night. Police say the woman suffered minor facial lacerations in the incident, which happened only metres from Dee Why Police Station and is now under investigation. NSW Police were called to the bus stop shortly before 9.45pm on 4 July after reports of an assault. Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command arrived quickly and were told a 17-year-old male had allegedly assaulted a 27-year-old female. Bystanders said a verbal altercation broke out among people getting off a bus before the confrontation escalated. Witnesses told police and others at the scene that the teenage boy allegedly body-slammed the woman to the ground. It remains unclear how the argument started. The woman is understood to have been with at least two other people known to her at the time, while it is not believed she and the alleged assailant knew each other before the incident.
