NSW Police and NSW Ambulance responded to reports of a collision between an e-bike and a blue 2024 Kia Stonic near the intersection. The teenage rider had been travelling north on Fisher Road North, while the Kia, driven by a man in his 50s, was heading south and turning right into Ryrie Avenue. Video footage of the incident shows the crash happened after sunset and before last light, when traffic on Fisher Road North was still busy. Other vehicles in the footage have their headlights on in the dim conditions. The footage shows the Kia turning into Ryrie Avenue at what appears to be a moderate speed. It does not appear to slow noticeably before the collision, and the driver later told police he had not seen the bike approaching.
