Hill, who said he was born at Mona Vale Hospital and has lived most of his life on the Northern Beaches, has been handed one of the toughest jobs in NSW Health. The hospital became a symbol of the problems surrounding public-private hospital partnerships, and the NSW Audit Office found the arrangement was not effectively delivering the best quality of integrated health services for patients. NSW Health ended Healthscope’s contract 12 years early and took over the hospital in April.
