Emergency services, including NSW Police and NSW Ambulance, were called to North Steyne, Manly, just after 3:45 pm on Sunday, June 21, following reports of a collision between a vehicle and what was initially reported as an e-bike. Upon arrival, officers discovered that two 15-year-old boys had been knocked off a bike while travelling at approximately 30 km/h. The collision occurred when a white 2013 Volkswagen Caddy van attempted to turn into a parking space, striking the bike and its occupants. Both teenagers sustained minor injuries in the crash. One of the boys was treated at the scene by paramedics for facial injuries before being transported to Northern Beaches Hospital in a stable condition. The investigation took a complicated turn when police initially could not locate the bike involved.
