Police are appealing for public assistance to find Matthew Bowen, a 54-year-old man missing from Manly, with concerns for his welfare because he lives with a medical condition. Mr Bowen was last seen at West Promenade, Manly, at about 8pm on Friday 29 May 2026. Police said inquiries began after he could not be located or contacted. Officers attached to Northern Beaches Police Area Command were notified at 12.30pm on Friday 12 June 2026 and started inquiries into his whereabouts. NSW Police have since issued a public appeal for information as the search continues. Police and Mr Bowen's family both hold concerns for his welfare. The concern is heightened because he lives with a medical condition, although no further details about that condition have been released. Mr Bowen is described as being of Caucasian appearance, about 175cm tall and of medium build. He has red hair, a grey beard and brown eyes.
